Musaraña Editora is a argentinian bookstore and an indepedent publishing house focused in cómics and graphic art. We published artists from Argentina, Latin America, and Europe, and the first Latin American comics anthology named El volcán - Present in Latin American comics.

El volcán - Un presente de la historieta latinoamericana

El Volcán is the first known anthology of current Latin American comic.
It contains self-contained comic strips of 42 cartoonists.
In recent years, from a series of new festivals, groups of authors, bookstores, publishers, magazines and specialized media, the Latin American cartoon began to generate a new set of reflections on themes, languages, traditions, influences and resources and was defining a new identity. The products of this conformation are now in sight. The artists present, in addition to a renewed and powerful creative force, a solid interest in the development of their personal styles. In this sense, El Volcano offers a tour of some of the main and most unique voices of the current cartoon of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Un beso así

Todo va a estar bien is the new autobiographical novel by cartoonist Paola Gaviria, known as PowerPaola, and marks the return of one of the most remarkable graphic novelists in Latin America, who rose to fame in the region for her comic Tropical Virus. With short, fragmented stories, PowerPaola opens again the doors of his life to the reader through his vignettes and pencil drawings in black and white, this time focusing on events that occurred during his adolescence and the years of searching for his professional career. Everything will be fine is a story that captivates the reader by the humor, imagination and magical-critical universe of its author, where you can meet the people who marked his life for different reasons, regardless of whether he met them an end of week or throughout his life. It is also a story about love, about all forms of love.

Gravidez

Four years ago, the Portuguese architect and artist Júlia Barata landed in Argentina and found in the autobiographical comic a way to make personal catharsis before a whirlwind of events that went through his life. A busy migration to Buenos Aires from Porto, a surprise pregnancy right in the middle, and all the ins and outs that follow the moves and families. The book is presented as a compilation of all these small fragments drawn and blotted with haste, which later became a story that thematizes immigration, motherhood, sense of belonging and blood and acquired families. Moments of his life that speak without any pastoral imposture or costumbrista about different types of affective relationships, with great sense of humor and a sweeping graphic record.

Festival Sudestada opens a window in the city of Buenos Aires to generate new bridges and spaces within the thriving cultural industry of drawing and illustration.
An annual meeting point for professionals, students and the general public with the world of illustration, drawing and graphic arts, it also aims to become a professional forum for dissemination and exchange.
Being aware of the high professional and historical level of our region, we see in the illustrators and current cartoonists a great professional development, a lot of talent and drive and we are attentive to a new wave, a great wind, an artistic force that seeks and needs channels to set up as a robust, healthy and permanent creative industry.

Año sabático is the second road comic of José González. A sensitive, autobiographical and hallucinatory record of a trip through the province of Newfoundland, Canada. A very versatile author that summarizes the spirit of the permanent traveler and transmits it with a wonderful graphic display.
