Elkin Robinson is a musician and songwriter born in Old Providence Island in the caribbean. His music is the evolution of the folklore of the region, which highlights traditional elements like mentó and calypso, executed on typical instruments, recreated with new airsn and rhythms. Elkin´s music has emerged to be the new face of the caribbean folk and calypso. Elkin Robinson has taken his music to the most important venues and festivals in Colombia and was official selected to showcase at WOMEX 2017. Internationally Elkin´s band has been invited to La Mar de Música in Spain, Wasser-musik Festival in Berlin, Jamaica, Canada, among others. Elkin´s second record, produced by Richard Blair was released in june 2017, is fueled with enchanting and powerful lyrics that further captures the essence of the original sound of the caribbean digging into the sailor folk and gospel that shaped the islanders music.
