ALMIR ALMAS

Almir Almas is Full Professor at the University of São Paulo. He is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Film, Radio and Television and the Postgraduate Program in Media and Audiovisual Processes at the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo. He is General Coordinator of the Research Group LabArteMídia (Laboratory of Art, Media and Digital Technologies) and Obted (Brazilian Observatory of Digital Television and Technological Convergence) at the ECA/USP. He holds a Ph.D in Communication and Semiotics, at PUC/SP. He was Visiting professor and Researcher (Support by FAPESP BPE), at Oxford Brookes University, England, in 2023-2024. He is Filmmaker/Videoartist/VJ. Member of the Board of the Brazilian Society of Television Engineering and Member of the Brazilian Digital Terrestrial Television System Forum. Member of the CEACA (Centro de Estudos e Aplicação da Capoeira - Center for Studies and Application of Capoeira). Associated with the Brazilian Association of Extended Reality (XRBR). Author of Televisão Digital Terrestre: Sistemas, Padrões e Modelos (Digital Terrestrial Television: Systems, Standards and Models), among other books and articles. alalmas@usp.br
