An industry veteran, Mark has held executive leadership roles in Microsoft Xbox, Playful Studios, Sony PlayStation, SEGA, GameStop, and more. His love of gaming and passion for global expansion has allowed him to experience life and business in over forty countries, across various industry segments such as emerging markets, consoles & peripherals, products & services development, game development, and studios’ leadership and collaboration. Mark is an active games industry advisor and board member. Mark is a life-long ocean lover and an active member of the Board for the Oceanic Society, the oldest ocean conservation organization in the US, and Sunday, a leading microfinance organization providing zero-interest microloans around the globe. Mark is also a strategic consultant for Playing for the Planet, an alliance of game industry organizations collaborating for better sustainability across the industry, and an active board member for Games for Change, a leading non-profit working to harness the power and reach of the video game industry to accelerate and scale social impact around the world. Mark also served as Chair of the International Game Developer’s Association’s (IGDA) Indie Collective, a group of industry veterans whose sole mission is to help indie developers around the globe. Mark currently enjoys collaborating with various game studios and other global game organizations as a consultant and advisor. Mark lives in Dallas with his wife and three sons. He enjoys time with family, loves to surf the coastal waters of his native Costa Rica.
