Heather Cameron, PhD, joined External Affairs and International Trade Canada in 1990 and the Canadian International Development Agency in 1992. During her career, she has been assigned to a number of different bureaus, including Human Resources, Africa, Latin America, and Middle East. Overseas, she served in Zimbabwe and Mozambique and from 2016 to 2019 she served as High Commissioner in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Togo. She has been Canada's Consul General in São Paulo since late 2019
