The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) is an agency of the direct federal public administration, whose competencies include the defense of the legal order, political rights, and constitutional guarantees; the coordination of the Unified Public Security System; and the defense of the national economic order and consumer rights. The MJSP also acts in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes, including through the recovery of assets that finance these criminal activities or result from them, as well as in the prevention and combating of corruption, money laundering, and the financing of terrorism.
