The Atlantic Council’s Climate Resilience Center to bring life-saving, actionable climate interventions into the gaming world. By partnering with major publishers and AAA studios, they help integrate climate resilience into popular games and platforms like Minecraft Education. We also support workshops that equip game developers with the tools to inform and empower players around the globe—transforming gameplay into a force for real-world impact.

This year at Gamescom LATAM we are focusing on our project, the Climate Crisis Academy. It's the result of years of on-the-ground research from industry experts examining how we can best leverage gaming technologies to build resilience at scale.

Game Design Climate Workshop + Game Jam

Use Your Game Developer Superpowers to Fight the Climate Crisis Workshop is a full-day interactive session held multiple times at GDC in San Francisco. It gives developers the tools to incorporate climate change and resilience themes into their games through expert talks and hands-on activities, empowering them to educate players, inspire action, and promote resilience.

For the first time in Latin America, the workshop will pair with climate-themed game jams at physical venues across Brazil in 2027. Top projects will receive development funds to bring their ideas to life.
