BlackThorne Keep

BlackThorne Keep is Limiar Studios' flagship IP, a narrative-driven action RPG set in a low fantasy world inspired by a medieval Brazil. The story follows Athos BlackThorne, the last lord of the BlackThorne Keep while he unfolds a conspiracy that threathens his family and legacy.

The game features directional melee combat, cinematic combat maneuvers, and strategic character development. Beyond combat, systems like Karma and Interaction & Exploration Scenes add depth to story consequences, puzzles, and NPC interactions.

In partnership with DX Gameworks, we provide comprehensive support for Ruff Ghannor, covering everything from bug identification and fixing, ensuring a smooth and glitch-free gaming experience, to the development of additional content (DLCs) that expand the game’s universe and keep it fresh and engaging.
We also focus on optimization and system reengineering to enhance performance and efficiency, while offering continuous post-launch support to ensure the game consistently meets players’ expectations.

In this project, we contributed to gameplay development by creating core mechanics, including controls, physics, and AI. We also developed custom tools for efficient iteration, enhanced immersion with visual effects, and handled environment and character animations. Additionally, we optimized the game for mobile devices, and worked on backend/live ops, including server setup and data flow management

NDA Triple A worldwide title

We were thrilled to contribute to a AAA title by developing a custom tool for implementing and configuring VFX using Niagara within Unreal Engine. This tool was designed to streamline the visual effects workflow, making it easier for the team to manage, iterate, and integrate high-quality effects efficiently into the game.
