The player’s quest is to revive the city of Shadow’s Edge after a terrible storm. Players must find the pages of a lost journal and answer the therapeutic questions on them. Players also express themselves in-game by using spray paint and stencils that are rewarded for journaling. They create meaningful graffiti to beautify the city again. The share their graffiti in game with other players. As they play their progress in journaling, spray painting and sharing, has a direct impact on the world. Plants start growing, the weather improves, buildings repair themselves, NPC dialogue changes, creatures come back. Shadow’s Edge allows patients to connect with themselves and others in a new, fun way. They get the skills to take charge of their emotional health and learn their illness doesn't define them, they do.
