Padre Anchieta Foundation works to universalize the right to information and communication. education, citizenship, culture, art, music, environment, journalism, and the preservation and dissemination of collections are our priorities. During its almost 50 years, TV Cultura has won over 400 national and international awards and was considered, in 2014, the second best in quality in the world, according to a BBC research.

Since 2012 the institution has launched a series of exhibitions using preserved collections of audiovisual projects, such as puppets, costumes, archives, etc., which has used in children's historical programs, such as Sesame Street, Cocoricó and Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum. We also have an outstanding collection of works of art, originally used in the TV scenarios such as Metropolis and Manos e Minas, which have already visited several Brazilian cities in exhibitions focused on the fruition and understanding of contemporary Brazilian art, its history and diversity.

Since the begining of the FPA’s activities, innovative audiovisuais formats have emerged as a result of intense experimentatiton and renovation work. In this context, this project highlights the visual arts collection with an outstanding multimídia exhibiton, recovering the history of art and the institution through some of the main Brazilian Tv shows. This art collections is considered one of the largest in the country in terms of monumental and hibrid artworks, which are signed by renowned comtemporary artists.

Exposição Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum

Broadcast by TV Cultura for the first time between 1994 and 1997, Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum is the most successful program ever shown on a Brazilian public television. The unanimity among the critics, several national and international awards, and, most of all, the immediate success with the audience proved that a landmark in the history of Brazilian audiovisual production was born, transcending children and youth audience, for it gathered admirers from three generations at least.
After twenty years, TVCultura presents Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum – The Exhibition, which re-creates several settings and provides an immersive visit through the pieces of the collection, such as props, pictures, scale models, sketches, and costumes of the characters, including scenes from the program itself. This exhibition has already passed through several Brazilian cities, becaming a public record holder, also becoming the most visited exhibiton of the world in 2017, when was on display at the Memorial of Latin America.

Ensaio sobre a MPB

This project is designed in memory of Fernando Faro, jornalist, music producer, playwright, and diretor of TV shows. Mentor and responsible for the Ensaio by TV Cultura, the program made history in the 1970s and returned to the air in 1990. Ensaio brought to each episode a diferent artist who, in addition to singing, they talked about their work, private life and remembered curious cases. The collection is itself a precious and invaluable historical mapping of the greatest Brazilian musicians of all time.
