The Bogotá Afrobeat Orchestra is a musical group founded and established in Bogotá, which since 2013 has been developing an artistic and creative process that involves legacies from the Colombian Caribbean, inheritances of the Nigerian afrobeat and a series of contributions and resources of the Afro-Cuban cultures and the American funk.
In this process, the BOA has defined an unmistakable style and a unique sound that has added the presence of artists such as the singers Nelda Piña Quezada and Nidia Góngora, in a bid to re discover the country's cultural traditions and new possibilities to contribute to the Colombian musical vanguard. In 2017 The BOA presents its second full-length, entitled "Volume" a production in which the group explores other possibilities of the Afrobeat and in which it includes a series of creative turns and sound experiments. In 2018 "Volumen" is published in 12 "vinyl format in limited edition, under the label Mambo Negro Records
