Created by Eder Santos, one of the most important Brazilian video-artists, alongside with partners André Hallak, Leandro Aragão and Barão Fonseca.

The production company Trem Chic has recently consolidated the Television and Cinema department which develops fiction films, documentaries and TV series projects. The creations were shown at importante festivals, such as Rotterdam, Oberhausen, DOK Leipzig, among others in many countries. The last feature documentary film released, “The Third Shore” (2016) was presented in many festivals around the world and was awarded with the Critics Prize at the “It’s All True” International Documentary Film Festival.

Currently, Trem Chic has several series projects, documentaries and feature films in the development and pre-production stages.

Lavra is a doc ficction about the losses and damages resulting from the historical process of mining in the state of Minas Gerais (Brazil). From a point of view that values individual and collective memory, it focuses on the importance of the landscape in the construction of people's identity.

Pindorama

Pindorama is an adult animation series that happens after a natural disaster that caused the rise of sea level in Recife (Brazil). Half of the city resists protected by a dam and the other part, submerged, becomes the capital of crime in which stands out Maria Bonita, leader of a gang composed by transvestite bandits. Meanwhile, young Samuel is kidnapped and undergoes a scientific experiment that leads him to become the Calango superhero. In an unusual scenario, Pindorama discusses the possible place of the utopian figure of the hero and what he represents, going through discussions about cultural diversity, gender difficulties and globalization.

Santos Dumont, o céu na cabeça

This historical-poetic documentary pretends to reveal the man Santos-Dumont, in addition to his inventions, especially the airplane. Santos-Dumont was a visionary, an inventor fascinated with the advancement of science at the turn of the 19th / 20th centuries. A current character, who defended nature, lived celibate, suffered depression, committed suicide. Santos-Dumont traveled a lot and spent seasons in his residences in Europe and Brazil. These territories will be visited in order to rescue traces of his presence and landmarks from his memory. Each territory will be linked to facts and memories in different periods of the life of Santos-Dumont (1873-1932).

Corpo Presente

The documentary looks into the contemporaneity through the body and its uncountable expressions and meanings possibilities. The multiplicity of bodies as a place of outpouring, settled by a political, poetical and critical bias, in pictorial compositions and elaborated narratives. The documentary allows art and its creative process resistance possibilities, besides aesthetic and political innovation, setting, from our physical matter
or from its abandonment, a place for public debate of crucial questions to our era.

Uakti

The documentary UAKTI makes a visual and sound incursion through the emblematic trajectory of the Brazilian group UAKTI, from the musical formation of its idealizer Marco Antônio Guimarães to the recognition of the work of the collective in the national and international scenario. The group is recognized worldwide for its strong partnerships with musicians such as Philip Glass and Milton Nascimento, among others. From interviews, archive footage and recordings never released on album, the film seeks to capture and transmit the essence of the group that was constituted from the construction and use of unusual acoustic instruments, celebrating the alliance of the academic with the popular and living music within an integrative perspective of broader issues in life.

"MINAS BABILÔNIA" is an urban drama set in Belo Horizonte / MG. The new film by renowned director Neville d'Almeida addresses three main stories: hypocrisy, moralism and violence in family and social relations. As a counterpoint, the film interweaves short parallel stories, which act as opposing forces, revealing the powerful presence of art and love in relationships between people.

Água de Plantar

A documentary series idealized in partnership between the NGO Oficina de Imagens and the production company
Trem Chic. "Planting Water" is about the preservation of the waters through a conscious agriculture, what we call agroecology. The work consists in the registration of initiatives of people, groups, experiences, projects and organizations that somehow are linked to the theme of the sustainable production of foods, entangled by the condition of protectors of the waters that permeate the basins in which they are inserted.
